This is a part of the thorough Die-Kaffee Privatrösterei review. After reviewing most of the Quijote coffees the next reviews will focus on the beans that Olga Sabristova roasts.

While I try not to be biased in any way, I feel obliged to mention that my first order got mixed up. Olga reached out and resend me the bags I originally ordered, but allowed me to keep the other bags as well (Great customer service and a great starter).

Preparation

Ground with Rancillio Rocky S, prepared with Rancillio Silvia. The first couple of days the beans where simply impossible to prepare wrong. Tried ~ 5g variance and 4 different grind settings. Everything produced a very rich, tasty, dark and oily cup. In general I found longer extraction times (about a minute) to produce nicer results.

Taste

The espresso is dark and relatively heavy. I could not burn it, and it really shined with slow extractions. When poured lighter it was still okay but it really did not add much to the taste in my opinion. Cutting the shot blonde yielded sweeter results, letting it pour longer resulted in a little more body.

Would buy again ?

A dark and nutty espresso. I really liked the mouth-feel, but I'm not a hazelnut fan. Other than that I would buy again.
