Quijote El Gran Crasso

  • Origin: India
  • Price: ~ 22€/Kilo
  • Blend: 100% Robusta
  • Character: rough, dirty, snappy
Preparation

Ground with Rancillio Rocky S, prepared with Rancillio Silvia. My gasket seal "broke" during the final testing. That's why the crema looks so poor on the last image. Other than that the beans were pretty even, small and of rather light coloring.

Taste

It's what you'd expect from 100% robusta. While it's not at all my favorite I'll try my best. The coffee is pretty smooth and flows like honey. What you get is a dark brown-gold crema you can almost grab and lift off. But beware of wrong preperation. The last few shots I poured with my half broken gasket were terrible.

Would buy again ?

No. 500g was too much. I couldn't stand it at the end and it's just so boring. But you know, maybe Robusta people like it and stuff. - it's okay, though not my favorite.
